1. Introduction

Banan Innovation IT Foundation ("Banan", "we") respects the privacy of users of Banan Accounting (the "Service"). This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect the information you provide to us when using the Service.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Account information: Store name, tax number, address, phone number, email.
  • Sales and accounting data: Invoices, customers, products, suppliers, financial accounts — mostly stored locally.
  • Technical information: IP address, device type, operating system, error logs — for technical support purposes.
  • Electronic-invoicing data: Data required to generate and submit invoices to the Zakat, Tax & Customs Authority (ZATCA).

3. How We Use Information

  • To provide and operate the accounting software service.
  • To generate and submit electronic invoices to ZATCA in line with Saudi regulations.
  • To provide technical support and resolve technical issues.
  • To improve the software's performance and develop new features.
  • To communicate with you about service updates or important changes.
  • To comply with legal and regulatory obligations.

4. Data Storage and Security

Most of your accounting data is stored locally on your device in an encrypted database. Data related to electronic invoicing and cross-device sync may be stored on our secure servers within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. We use SSL/TLS encryption for all communications and multi-layered security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access.

5. Sharing Data with Third Parties

We do not sell or rent your data. We may share limited information only in the following cases:

  • With the Zakat, Tax & Customs Authority (ZATCA) when submitting electronic invoices — in line with Saudi regulations.
  • With trusted service providers who help us operate the Service (such as infrastructure providers) under strict confidentiality agreements.
  • When required by judicial or regulatory authorities under the law.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data and request a copy of it.
  • Correct any inaccurate information.
  • Request deletion of your data (subject to legal obligations regarding tax-record retention).
  • Withdraw your consent for processing your data at any time.
  • File a complaint with the relevant authorities if you believe your rights have been violated.

7. Cookies

Our website uses cookies to improve your experience and analyze visits. You can control cookie settings through your browser. Disabling cookies may affect some site features.

8. Data Retention

We retain your data throughout the active subscription period with Banan. After termination, we keep the data for a limited period (typically 90 days) to allow export before final deletion — unless legal requirements impose a longer retention period (such as tax records, which may require up to 10 years under Saudi regulations).

9. Children

The Service is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to the Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes via email or through an in-app notice. We recommend reviewing this policy periodically.
